Skype Discussion

Today I discuss on Skype with my adviser of CMU. We discuss every weekend even after I had returned to Japan, and today is the last discussion before I visit Sydney to join an international conference. I'm going to make a speech at a workshop held with the conference. We will discuss about the speech.

We're working using SVN, a famous revision control system. Using SVN, we can easily modify same files together on a remote machine, talking on Skype. This is an excellent way to collaborate with worldwide researchers.

The SVN server machine is located at GHC (Gates and Hillman center) in CMU. We must access the server with svn+ssh protocol, but my company does not allow to use SSH protocol to access external machines. So I cannot discuss with my adviser from my company, and I must discuss from my home on weekend. :-(

Recently I found that I can use Skype on my cell phone, a WindowsMobile smart phone. And I also realize that our company allows to use SSH protocol on SOCKS service. I'm trying now to access the SVN server from my company. It will be very convenient if I can discuss with my adviser from my company. And if I can do so, I can enjoy on every weekend with my family! :-)
